LandingPool is designed with your privacy in mind. We collect only what's necessary to match you with fellow travelers, and we automatically delete your data after each trip.
1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to:
- Match you with passengers on the same flight heading to nearby destinations
- Display your name, photo, and seat number to passengers you have matched with
- Send you push notifications about match requests and chat messages
- Calculate driving distance between your destination and potential matches
Your photo is never shown to anyone until you successfully match. It is not used for facial recognition, advertising, or any purpose other than helping your match find you at the airport.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Your information is shared only with:
- Your matched passenger(s) — they see your name, destination, transportation preference, seat number, and photo (if provided) only after a match is confirmed
- Firebase (Google) — our backend infrastructure provider, which processes and stores data on our behalf under Google's privacy terms
- Google Maps Platform — destination addresses are sent to Google's Distance Matrix API to calculate driving distances; Google's privacy policy applies to this data
4. Data Storage and Security
All data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure located in the United States (us-central1 region). Data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Photos are stored in Firebase Storage with access restricted by authentication rules.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
Automatic deletion
Most personal data is automatically deleted within 24 hours of your match completing or when you leave a ride group. Photos are deleted from our servers when you back out of the match screen, leave a group, or when the match expires after 24 hours.
Ride history
A summary of your past matches (flight number, date, and matched passenger names) is retained to provide you with ride history. This data can be deleted on request.
Delete your data
You can request complete deletion of all your data by contacting us at privacy@landingpool.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
6. Authentication
LandingPool uses anonymous authentication. We do not require or collect your email address, phone number, or any login credentials. Your identity within the app is tied to a randomly generated anonymous identifier on your device. If you delete and reinstall the app, a new identifier is created and your previous data is no longer associated with you.
